Honestly this was kind of disappointing, I didn't click with the writing style and wasn't interested in the characters or the plot very much. I can definitely see the appeal, it just wasn't for me.

"I hate having emotions about reality; I'd much rather have them about Sanctuary Moon."

Oh how the turn tables. I decided to buy this a while ago when I saw it on sale because even though I really didn't like it when I read it before, I wanted to like it real bad. Luckily for me, I had an absolute blast this time!
The characters were interesting, the plot had me engaged and invested and despite the sometimes slightly juvenile/try-hard lines overall the writing was great too. Part of the main reason I disliked this the first time was how much it reminded me of a friend who I hated, but several years on I am cured!

2024 reread
I have finally gotten my hands on a copy of System Collapse, and figured it's a good opportunity at the end of the year to reread these books so I remember more of the plot and such and what an excellent idea! I really love the tone of these books, Murderbot is so completely uncaring of so many things and has such an interesting personality which is just fun to get to see. I am curious how they will adapt this for the Apple TV show/ Alexander Skarsgård.
