The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

3.0

Up until the very end, this book just seemed like a filler. It seemed that the author just wanted to write something that lead to Thalia's return and, therefore, decided to dedicate a whole book to it.

I think it is very hard to read Percy Jackson and not compare it with Harry Potter - and, presumably, it's easy to understand why. I always find myself wondering when will Percy mature a little; his way of thinking is sometimes too childish. I know that this series is supposed to be for kids, but so is Harry Potter, and you can see an evolution in Harry's maturity over the books.

Moreover, and once again, just like in the first book, everything is just too convenient. Every little and insignificant action happens exactly when it should and, for me, it just takes half the fun when all the actions are perfectly orchestrated.
