The Sentinel
by Lee Child, Andrew Child
Jack Reacher travels the US, alternating between large cities and small town, solving crime, kicking butt, and taking names along the way.
In this book, Reacher is in small town Tennessee, where he stumbles upon an attempted kidnapping, which he promptly puts an end to. Naturally intrigued (who would try to kidnap the town's Head of IT in backwoods Tennessee for goodness sake?), Reacher decides to stick around, and solve the case. Along the way, he gets involved with the FBI, the Secret Service, and gangsters who are up to no good.
It wasn't a bad read. It had all the usual Jack Reacher things, it just felt a little clunky. Usually, Reacher's a little slick. He can see 3 or 4 moves ahead, usually. He still can do that here, it's just Reacher felt a little clumsy as he moves between them.
