Strong Female Character by Fern Brady

i’m really glad a book like this exists. this is my first memoir where the character delves into their autism diagnosis and how it affected their life, and it’s definitely the first time hearing it from a woman’s perspective. so much of our knowledge of autism is portrayed as symptoms in men, but it’s much more nuanced than that and manifests differently in females. Fern got her diagnosis later in life and she parses through aspects of her childhood and young adulthood that contributed to and amounted to her experiences. i found this book compulsively readable and educational and really related to some of her anecdotes about her experiences.
