A Gentleman in the Street by Alisha Rai
4.0
I read this on the recommendation of a friend. It's definitely a lot racier than most of what I'd choose to read - I'd classify it as straight up erotica rather than romance - but it's a really well written book which is why I kept reading even after realizing the sex-to-plot ratio was a little more than I'd bargained for.
At the very least it was a nice break from a bunch of the really awful tropes that are rampant in romance novels. There are no magical virgins taming "bad boys" and the whole message of the book is that being a well behaved nice person in no way dictates one's sex life. It's a nice counterpoint to folks who claim that requiring enthusiastic consent is somehow antithetical to romance and eroticism.
But the plot is definitely only there to string together a bunch of sex scenes, so if you're looking for a compelling story you'll probably want to skip this one.
