Scrambled Eggs and Lemsip by Lily Morton

I loved seeing Gabe jealous here. I don’t know what it is with me and jealousy, but I eat it up every single time; especially if it’s the grumpy/stoic one who gets all jealous. It just hits in all the right spots for me.

Anyway, obviously this story also featured Gabe’s proposal, and it was quite sweet. However, I have to admit that I personally would prefer to be proposed to when I’m not sick, but oh well. I suppose it’s the thought and promise of a future that counts.

“I want that forever, Dylan. I want to look after you and love you and protect you. I want to laugh at your sassiness, warm your cold feet in bed at night, and never nag you for your endless preoccupation with baths. I want to sit quietly at home reading with you and lie in bed at night talking together. I want to go out on the town with you because I’m so proud to be seen with you, and nothing is ever so good if it isn’t shared with you. Everything I see in my future has you in it, so I need a ring on your finger and one on mine because I want the world to know we belong together.”

So, obviously this had quite a few cute themes, but I couldn’t help but feel like it was a teeny tiny bit boring. Maybe that was just me, though, because I can see why others would eat it up completely.
