This one may have been a little overly hyped for me. I was not overly invested in the story until the very end (at which point I was absolutely reaching for Raven King) The book starts with the reader as lost and confused as Neil seems to be (I'm pretty sure this was intentional though, and I just don't like not knowing what is going on, so it is likely a me thing). The book as a whole felt like a lot of setup, and the whole club scene made me a lot uncomfortable. As a sports person, I would have also loved a basic Exy explainer in this book.
ALL OF THIS being said, I am fully writing this review after having plowed through the rest of these books and it was absolutely worth it to work through this one to get to the next two (I haven't done sunshine court yet)
