This book had so much potential, it was tense, creepy and sometimes funny but something about it was just like soooooo millennial. I feel like a lot of millennial authors have this issue where they put that 2013 "quirkyness, I'm different " kinda humour/ thinking into their books and it just really roots the age of the author into the text. I think it could be argued they were hilighting the millenialness of Anna but sometimes it just really felt like I was reading a wine is life Tumblr post

did the part with josh like idk revenge fucking anna then getting killed when she tried to give him the key like fuck up annas character for anyone else? I know like its representing her mental descention or whatever but holy shit. The description of him wanting to have sex with her because he felt like his life was better now is just idk ugh so disgusting but anna knowingly cursing and then not caring about killing him felt even more fucked
