Getting Dirty with the CEO by Mia Sosa

5.0

"I can’t forget that night, okay? And the idea that we’re just going to pretend it never happened seems wrong somehow.”

It continues to bite at Mimi that Daniel rejected her even knowing why. I love that Sosa doesn’t correct this easily. Trust is hard for Mimi. Daniel may have been well intentional but he hurt her. It takes time for her to trust him again. And just as she does, she gets pulled into working for him.

The short of it is: Mimi needs Daniel's firm as a client. Her goals and her future are very much at stake. I love that Sosa doesn’t soften how this could impact Mimi

There's also a good conversation about professionalism. I agree curating an image to feel safe in the workplace comes at cost. Mimi starts this to avoid harassment. But it's not her. It doesn't protect her. She still experiences sexism. (draft)
