Thought provoking in the current political climate

This book was an excellent, scathing critique of the British establishment and the lengths that they are willing to go to to protect their interests and to keep the clock speaking.

In a world where money talks - especially in Britain - we see the lengths that the aristocracy can go to if they have the money. We see the lengths they go to for power and respect.

I thought this book was excellent - in particular, the characterisation. Every character in the book was absolutely loathsome in some way. I felt this book was written very well - especially some of the imagery throughout and the social critiques of the rich.

It is incredibly thought provoking in the current political climate of Britain today. Whilst this is a fictional novel, it is entirely believable that the establishment and indeed our current government would attempt a cover-up of this scale and beyond to protect one of their own.
