A challenging book on several levels. A fully dark, dystopian view of the future from the 1980’s. Extra challenging because there are intimations of that view actually here today. The struggles of a society and a person in a time of chaos descending into absolute anarchy proceed and build through out the story leading to an ending that illuminates the title of the book
