Sweeney's reflection on her running journey is expertly woven from one short story to the next with a tone that creates a familiarity to the author and their friends and family. She balances the heavy subjects with lighthearted moments and relatable tales of the human condition.
There were a few repetitive moments, but I think these were intentional to reflect the author's struggle with overthinking. Either way, I did feel the pace of the storytelling was slowed a bit too much with some of these repetitive moments.
Otherwise, I found this to be an inspiring read, and I would recommend it not only to runners and athletes, but to anyone who is in need of inspiration to overcome big hurdles in life.
