Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski

5.0

The Sword of Destiny is everything I would want from a fantasy novel: magic, romance, heartbreak, fate, and action. The story follows Geralt of Rivia and his travels slaying monster's, human and mutant alike. This book is not linear, which I enjoy because it offers us more insight into Geralt's actions.

The best part of this novel is the diverse cast. Dandelion is Geralt's intermittent bard companion; he adds the comic relief and can easily take the award for best supporting actor. And without giving any spoilers, there are so many others that expand on Geralt's personality and flaws, through their interactions with him as well.

The writing is easy to follow and I found myself always wanting to keep listening, making for a quick read. I recommend this book and series for any fantasy reader, and it definitely would be good for those just beginning their fantasy journey!
