The Wicked Remain by Laura Pohl

4 stars. I loved this even more than book one. This is a seriously underrated series. Pohl’s writing has definitely improved and I feel like this one was better paced as well. I was never bored and it had me hooked from the beginning.
I remember not liking Yuki in the first book. What a surprise that by the end of this one she was my favorite of the bunch. She’s the most complex character and I loved her growth and development. And the sweet little romance between her and Ella even though it was last minute and I would’ve loved to see that play out more. All of the characters are likable and I loved their friendship and how they stuck together.
The stakes are much higher and it made for an exciting read. I adored it and I’m sad that this is only a duology but I am excited to see what Pohl does next. I cannot recommend these books enough. They’re a fun time.
