A Twist in Time
by Julie McElwain
***The following rambling notes are for me. They may contain spoilers or no information at all. Rating are sometimes based on literary merit and sometimes based on vibes.***
This time travel murder mystery is a great blend of genres with an excellent concept and engaging mystery, but Kendra is frustrating throughout, regressing in her manners and attempts to adapt to 1815 instead of growing from the first book (which I enjoyed much more). Her behavior toward Alec after rejecting his proposal was especially aggravating. For supposedly the youngest profiler in FBI history, her detective skills don’t match her reputation - she needs another murder to solve both cases. I’m not sure if I’ll continue to book three. If I do and her behavior doesn’t improve, I’ll DNF. Mystery 4 ⭐️ Frustrating drags the rating down.
