I drifted in and out of really hating this and thinking it was ok. The humour here mostly across as self-consciously silly and at best is slightly amusing, in a "huh, that's funny" kind of way, rather than making me smile or actually making me laugh. The relentless randomness does get rather tiresome, though.
Cheryl is also an annoying character. I constantly wanted Cheryl to stand up for herself, and when she finally began to it just fizzled out and right to the end everybody continued to walk all over her.
For all its wackiness the plot does stray into predictable territory too, and ultimately I found the end quite cynical and sad. The epilogue also seemed shoved on to make the whole thing less depressing and ultimately it failed.
