Wonderland: An Anthology by Angela Slatter

4.0

I have mixed feelings: Some of the stories were so wonderfully strange and just fun to read, while the last few plain boring. I loved the stories that took an interesting turn, had an unique perspective on the original work and added something fresh to it, or simply used it as inspiration. However, few of the tales literally just built their stories on the original setting without an interesting idea, and I couldn't enjoy the style either, but that's just my own taste I guess :) Anyhow, the stories I liked the most were (not in this particular order) :
There were no birds to fly
The white queen's pawn
Dream Girl
Good dog, Alice! (this I enjoyed probably the most, adorable with a dark turn)
The hunting of the Jabberwock
About time
Vanished summer glory
Black kitty (this was also one of the best reads, a very unique addition to the original story)
The night parade (if yiu are a fan of japanese culture, I'm positive you' ll like this just as much as I did)
The white queen's dictrum (nice if you like ghost stories)
