Putin's Wars by Mark Galeotti

challenging dark informative slow-paced

3.5

Good book. Focused more on the tactics and weapons of the military and less on the cultural impact of Putin’s wars than I had hoped. However, the author does do a very good job explaining how Putin took a broken army, partially repaired it, and subsequently destroyed it within 20 days. His chapter on Russia’s escalated invasion of Ukraine was by far the easiest to read and most important.
