I absolutely loved this and it would be 5 stars if not for the slow pacing of the first 3rd of the book, also too many names starting with “I” and “E” sounds, written down they may be different enough but listening to them on audiobook made it differentiate between some characters for a good chunk of the book.
Everything else though was great and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. There were some genuinely great plot twists and I think the concept of a world and magic system operating like pyramid schemes is pretty cool.
