Dark, heartbreaking and gripping. At its heart, it's a story about grief and the damage that comes with the inability to let go of the things we love.
I loved it, but recommend proceeding with caution: while the book treats all its characters with sympathy and compassion, there is a lot of suffering, and death is a central motif of the book. You might also want to sit this one out if you find animals deaths and child endangerment difficult to handle.
