I loved this story. I listened to an interview from the author- who has professional experience in a psych ward- really put a lot of attention into the pacing and details. 

 maybe I'm a sucker, but I found myself
hearing the obvious red herrings but kept reading for the plot and was ultimately twisted HARD by the ending. How well done the balance of switching time periods, but hints of different weather ( present forecast of snow, but the past stalking in thick underbrush) and others were just brilliant
