This series has been on my TBR for years and I am so happy I decided to participate in this readalong because I really enjoyed this book! I have been following the author Victoria Aveyard on social media for a few years now and I think she is awesome!
As for the book I listened on audiobook and I think it was a great decision! For me this book was kinda like a mix of Divergent meets the selection series. I felt connected with the main character and her love for her family and friends and where she came from. Mare was uprooted from her way of life and forced into a very toxic controlling arranged marriage type of situation...
People are not as they seem, there is no way to know what side they are on...you can only trust who you think is on your side until they turn on you...
There are super powers, deceitful lies, backstabbing, betrayal, and an epic battle...
I've finished the book and I still don't know who to trust or believe...
I loved every twist and turn...Can't wait to continue!
