Well. The villains in this story were something else. It has been a long while since I've read characters that were evil, just for the sake of being evil. It made it very easy to root for the good guys. There is truly something menacing about a person doing heinous things 'because they can.'

The chemistry between the hero and heroine cannot be denied, but I have a HUGE bone to pick with the hero. Sutton was speaking to Alex mad brazy, and she would just take it on the chin (which is kind of out of character, considering how she was in the beginning of the book). I mean he called her a whore! And he barely groveled! Ion like dat :(

The ending also gave me a bit of whiplash too. In the last quarter of the book, soooooo much happened, I could hardly keep up!

Come to think of it... the whole friggin book gave my whiplash! I mean, how does one gloss over a opium addiction???

All that being said, it was entertaining.
