This book is set in a dystopian future where an all controlling government has been overtaken, several people put in a prison of sorts, and a new group of people are in power. The main character was a literal "poster child" for the overthrown government, and is now in this prison, but she is given the opportunity to earn her way out by completing a task, finding a second child who was taken from her family due to the one child rule. This book is thought provoking and also seemingly a glimpse into our own future. I struggled with the POV this book was written in and also with Sonya's character arc. But overall, a good read.
