His & Hers
by Alice Feeney
His & Hers was a really compelling thriller that kept me on my toes until the end. After seeing multiple Alice Feeney recommendations, I decided to give one a shot. The writing is propulsive and smart and I didn't want to press pause on the story. I also didn't correctly guess who the murderer was and that always leaves me impressed!
This story revolves around Anna, a broadcast journalist, Jack, a detective, and the murderer. I loved the way it flipped back and forth between these three points of view. It kept me guessing about who I could trust and what exactly was going on in this story. This story was fast paced but also had great character depth. It also had a creepy in-the-woods setting for much of the book that really set the stage for an atmospheric read.
I highly recommend this book, especially on audio. The murderer's point of view is done with a voice modifier and it made for a really interesting dynamic. I'll definitely be checking out more of Alice Feeney's work.
