When I say that Toni Aleo does the best 'kids of past characters'/interconnected series in sports romance, I tell no lies.

Set scene: Quieter twin Evan Adler has left his assumed lifelong career path in the NHL to focus on his mental health and meets confident yet reserved gymnast Callie Pierce walking out of Bellevue's autism/mental health center.

Little does he know she's the sister in law of her of his VERY OVERPROTECTIVE ex-teammate and she's set her sights on him.

I felt like this was such a sweet romance. Very low angst if that's what your in the mood for. Toni does a great job interweaving past stories (really recommend Wild Tendy before getting into this) to craft this narrative where these characters have to continually question themselves but their partner is always in their corner.
