Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

This was so close to being a 5 star book. It held me captured from the first chapter and it was absolutely impossible to put down. I loved the cleverness of the plot, loved the depth of the characters, the twists and the turns that just kept coming and coming, surprising me every single time.

The negatives are very small and very unimportant. I didn’t care very much for
SpoilerNina and Matthias’
relationship, mostly because I either hate or love romance in books, and with this one it just didn’t keep me excited enough. The other, more subtle romances though, I’m so hyped for.

Another thing was that at times, it seemed like it was too unrealistic that
Spoilerthey managed to get out of the situations they got themselves in. Especially towards the end when they are surrounded by the Fjerdan soldiers. It threw me out of the story a little bit there.

Lastly, I’ll say that all the terminology was confusing for a major part of the story. There are terms I still don’t know what means. But maybe this issue will be dealt with upon reread, I have no problem with that.

Oh and I am unbelievably excited to read Crooked Kingdom. What a promise this ending was! I can’t wait to relive all this again!
