Change of Heart by K.M. Neuhold

5.0

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster though. Easton lost his husband Paul 5 years ago and following Paul’s wishes his heart was donated to save a strangers life. Easton hasn’t really been living since he lost Paul so in order to get some closure he asked his friend Fox to track down River Williams, who has Paul’s heart to see what type of man he his and to see whether he’s worthy of the gift he was given. Fox is really apprehensive of doing it for Easton as what would it help but he does it anyway. Fox tells him that he’s a good man and agrees to show Easton a photo of River only if he leaves it at that. Easton sees River in person on the street after he was delivering his manuscript to his agent and ends up saving him from being hit by a bus.

This is the start of a friendship that eventually turns into more. River had a heart transplant 5 years ago to save his life after getting strep throat and has no idea that Easton’s husband was the donor. River and Easton bond over their common interests of art and graphic novels. I loved that River helps bring colour back into Easton’s life that was lost when his husband died. Easton feels so much guilt for not only falling for River but also keeping such a massive secret from him. I thought the chemistry between these two was off the charts. Fox and Brendan are total best friend goals and I’m hoping that they’ll eventually get their own story at some stage as they just seemed to click. I’m looking forward to reading more books from KM Neuhold in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book and author to everyone.
