Where They Last Saw Her by Marcie R. Rendon

4.5

The authors writing style really stood out for me.  It is what I call "a day in the life" writing.  This made the story a lot more personal, which I think can be hard when tackling such deep and important subject matter.  I have read a few books about missing, kidnapped and murdered indigenous woman, and they went the "who done it/crime drama" route, which I feel falls short in a lot of ways.  This story is told in a way that draws the reader in to the community and all they face on a daily basis: the joys and the challenges. Also, Erin Tripp's narration is perfect.
