Master of Solitude by Cherise Sinclair

3.0

I liked that this book does more than focus on the romance. The vigilante plot allows the characters to develop in ways that are contextually plausible.

I didn't like the Dark Haven scene. I had a very hard time that Sawyer insisted on spanking Mallory when she clearly stated twice that she did not want impact play. "I'm just going to hit you a few more times even though you told me twice not to and obviously aren't enjoying it." How does that show respect or trust or caring?

I wish Sinclair had had Mallory use her safe word, excoriate Ethan for leaving when he had promised to monitor, rip Sawyer a new one and demand that he respect her boundaries. That would have been a more plausible break up scene than the one that came later.
