Did not finish book. Stopped at 59%.
The MMC straight up takes advantage of her and the power dynamic combined with her legal and financial situation makes the “consent” way too iffy in my eyes. And somehow the FMC becomes attracted to him? I get that this is supposed to be the opposite of how courting normally works but I’m not really buying falling for your boss who
essentially made you choose between missing your court date and getting SA’d in the back office.
As much as I don’t like to DNF, reading this just made me feel uncomfortable.
