as a kid, i thought this was the best of the trilogy, and i still think i’m right. the exploration of katniss’ trauma is fully realized and the beginning of the uprisings feels realistic to the established universe. there are SOME contrivances, but they keep the story moving at a brisk pace, so they can mostly be disregarded.
