This was my first of the Harper Connelly series, and I was pleasantly surprised. The pace moved quickly, the characters, although not all likable, were well developed and it didn't lose my interest.

I also liked that religion did not factor into the characters' behaviours, motivations or their ability to solve the crime (unlike a lot of supernatural stories out there).
