Beast of Dracula by John Patrick Kennedy

~I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley and Kindle Press Publishing.~

Though I did not realize I was reading the fourth installment of the series until it was way too late to turn back, I did really enjoy the story! Now I am going to have to go back and read the other three to see what I missed out on and to help connect all the dots. I am a huge fan of paranormal/vampire stories and now I am a fan of Mr. Kennedy!
The plotline never suffered any lag and to say it was prevailing would be an understatement! Aside from loving paranormal, I also love bloodletting, mass murder, maiming, and death n’ destruction! This book was all of that and then some!!! Made my black little heart go pitter pat for the first time in ages! What can I say, it is boring here in my small town, so I need excitement! I especially liked the torcher scenes and how they well they were portrayed! The best thing about this book was the lack of romantic finesse and bothersome poor pitiful me rhetoric that most paranormal books try to shove down my throat!

The Characters That Make This Book Delectable:

Ruxandra is my new favorite antiheroic heroine as she is not the average damsel in distress. In fact, the older than she gets the less she cares about anything except enjoying her afterlife and staying on top of her inner beast! She loves to listen to tunes and meeting people. Alas, all good things must come to an end. She regretfully must leave her merriment in NYC to go investigate a rogue vamp who is killing basically everything in its path on the west coast. Including her, if she doesn’t watch her back!

Elizabeth has little time or concern for anything but hunting down and destroying rogues. Oh, and anyone or anything that might stand in her way or that seems to fit the guilty bill. She believes that Ruxandra has created the monster that is threating to expose them, and she will kill everyone dear to Rux if she doesn’t step up and end the rogue. Munching down is the main priority and she will not stand for anything getting in the way of dinner. She emotes the normal royalty attitude and thinks that this field trip is totally beneath her skillset! She is a descendant of Blood Royal for goodness sake!

Conclusion:

I really enjoyed this trip into the paranormal fantasy realm and anyone who loves no-nonsense, fantastic wordsmithing will as well! I finished this intriguing read in one day and now I am going to sink my teeth into the other three! There seems to be room for additional books in this series and I look forward to going deeper into this world! Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of reading about Ruxandra and her night world! I am a fan!
