Here Goes Nothing by Alexander C. Eberhart

3.0

I think this book is quite similar to the last one. It's a direct sequel, but in reality I think it's more of a part 2. Even with a new setting, there's still a lot of familiar conflict involving those two.

That being said, the new stuff offered is good. I liked how the mom loves the other woman. I don't like how Mike just dumps his artist boyfriend with barely any focus on him (they should've been expanded more, even if Chris is his true love, they are still together). However, the art competition is cool, and the story being a chopped-up version of the first book, thus annoying Chris, was a cool source of conflict.

It has similar problems and upsides to the first book. It feels a bit predictable and the pacing is still weird, but it's all right in the end.
