The first half of the book is someone the worst in the series up till this point (in publishing order), but the second half is the best!
The first half feels like it's wasting time amd sets up plot points that don't really get addressed. The second half really expands on the in-universe philosophy and what it means to be a warrior, making a convincing argument for clan life. At least it ends on a high note.

Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Bullying, Death, Violence, Blood, Grief, Death of parent, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Toxic relationship
There's a big relationship drama that really could be skipped easily.
