The Bartered Bride
by Mary Jo Putney
The first part of this book was very good despite the horrible name and cover illustration. It was full of adventure, there were pirates and women and children sold into slavery, a rich sultan, and an exciting game of dice that held the future in the balance and required daring deeds to win!
Then that part was over and it all went to hell. The entire middle part of this book was almost an exact replica of the last book I read by Putney. Such a let down after such an encouraging start.
