peam 's review for:

Bride by Ali Hazelwood
3.5
adventurous emotional tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

The good:
✅ Great ensemble cast, I felt everyone was more or less well fleshed out
✅ Great plot, kept me guessing the whole time
✅ The chemistry between the MCs was awesome and hot

The bad:
🙅‍♀️ The conflict between the MCs was very silly. Poorly executed and resolved. You might wonder, what was the point of it? Plot device, and a lazy one at that.
🙅‍♀️  In general the stakes felt low. And not because of the world building (which I thought was ok) but in fact because she is not great at writing tension inducing, action driving scenes. In fact, the last big confrontation with the villain felt both drawn out with too much dialogue and too short with little to no action.
I hope the second book is better at that.
