A lovely novel. Meredith's journey through leaving her emotionally abusive husband and starting her own life was absolutely wonderful.
The characters were mostly likeable though I did have issues with just how prejudice come of the characters are. I do have to admit, however, it made them feel more human. They all somewhat redeemed themselves as time went on but it was a strong show of how rumours and jealousy can warp a person's perspective. Plus, there wouldn't be as much conflict otherwise.

Moderate: Emotional abuse
