Ugh...I don't hate it, but there's just something so flat and off about the way it's written. Important scenes are too short or done poorly while Kelsey getting dressed every day warrants half a page. The faltering first romance could and should be endearing but it's simply irritating. The story concept and interesting locale are promising, so the sequel is getting a shot from me (plus I already grabbed it at the library so might as well) but it's gonna take a major improvement for me to continue on after that...or recommend it to anybody. There is definitely much better supernatural romance out there (Try Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Eon, or Beautiful Creatures)
