In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje
slow-paced
2.0
[read for TA course] reading this book felt more painful than wisdom tooth extraction without anaesthetic. there were some absolutely beautifully crafted lines and (tiny) vignettes, and compelling moments and depictions of of early immigrant labour and the construction of foundational canadian city systems, it felt hopelessly difficult to follow and make connections that I felt I was 'supposed' to be making, and I left this novel only feeling so glad it was over *prayer hands*
