Ok… I should give this book 3 stars but the ending deserves it to be bumped up to 4. Parts of this were pretty predictable, I clocked Antonio from the start, however I was convinced that Wrath was actually the devil, so that was unexpected .
I really like Emilia, she’s feisty and cunning and a great FMC. I adore all the descriptions of food in this book! Made me positively starving! And I enjoyed the back and forth between her and Wrath. I am so intrigued to see where this goes!!
I have to say… I did think it was poor writing that she had spent her whole life not joining the amulets. Suddenly she joins them and it was such a non-event. A sentence of power and she immediately just accepts it. Some parts felt quite convenient to just move the plot along and we’re tied up nicely but… whatever, I still really enjoyed the book!
