The Fire Between High & Lo by Brittainy C. Cherry
4.0

"You never knew how good you had it until you saw how bad someone else did."

The Fire Between High & Low is intense. From what I've seen so far, Brittainy Cherry tends to write about heavy subjects that pull at your heart strings with every flip of the page. Without giving away too much of the story, Logan and Alyssa are polar opposites and what starts off as a friendship between two kids evolves into a chaotic, heartbreaking, romantic relationship between two young adults. The subject matter in this story contains a lot of mental, physical and emotional abuse in addition to drug addiction. This story is not a light read at all what-so-ever. If you cannot understand the cycle of abuse then I wouldn't recommend this story for you. If you're the type of reader that likes to relate to the character and can't understand that sometimes people will be weak, then I wouldn't recommend this to you either.

If you are compassionate, understanding, forgiving and open to the fact that not everyone is perfect, people make mistakes, pain is real, addiction is intense, abusive cycles are hard to break then go for it because the story is great.

"As it turned out, home wasn't a certain place; home was a feeling from ones for whom you cared most, a feeling of peace that calmed the wildfires of your soul."
