I Could Be Yours is the latest in the Toronto Terrors—they’re both terror-adjacent at least, while not being directly tied to the hockey team.

Essie is Rix's best friend. Nate is the brother of Tristan. We met them in the first book of the series. Now it’s time for their wedding.

Essie is a picture-perfect best friend and is doing everything in her power to make all the wedding events unforgettable for the couple, even if it means working with the boy who kissed her and ghosted her, the best man.

Helena Hunting takes us into the brain of both halves of this duo. In Essie, we hear her insecurities and frustrations at being judged solely for her looks. She’s also a people pleaser who prioritizes everyone else's needs over her own.

Nate is a brother trying to hold everyone together. Afraid to try letting anyone in after watching his marriage implode. We hear his concerns and worries about being enough for anyone to stay.

Through a delightful forced proximity destination wedding, we’re surrounded by characters and couples we love, and we get a front row seat to the banter and tension Essie and Nate are giving off.

Hunting is also open to discussing the mental and emotional health aspects of both their issues—I especially love the open way therapy is presented, and the benefits of it are addressed through multiple characters.

Definitely a good read!
