The Celebrants by Steven Rowley

4.0

The Celebrants, otherwise known as Jordan, Jordy, Craig, Naomi, and Marielle, made a pact their senior year of college after the death of close friend, Alec. This pact involved throwing a “funeral” for the otherwise undead when the pact was invoked by a member to remind them that life was worth living.

This book started off a little slow or maybe a little chaotic. I wasn’t really sure what I was reading and had a hard time keeping track of or embracing the characters. But as the book, and it structure unwound, the characters bloomed, as a flower, some more than others, and I became more invested in them. Over all the book is definitely a celebration of life and friendship and. Great reminder to “leave nothing unsaid” and tell people the positive impact they have had in your life.
