I had high hopes for this book and was horrendously disappointed by the time I reached the end of chapter 1.  In summary, it is melodramatic, overwrought and just a cosmic display of problematic relationships and women just ACCEPTING them.  

Up until this point, I had heard only good things about Sally Rooney’s books… this was my first read of hers, and unfortunately, most probably, my last.
