A book that had a lot of promise, a dark premise, a dangerous landscape. But the main character started to lose me when she kept trying to act like a hard young woman who didn't need any help whatsoever... and then constantly and consistently put herself in the position of damsel in distress. And then gets mad when people try to help her. Still, the promise of this series getting good made it worth the read. You get attached to the characters and the horror of someone so young being in such a horrible situation.
