Tall Bones by Anna Bailey

3.0

I only picked this up because I found an ARC at a book fair and was intrigued by the reversi nature of the cover - but it isn’t really the kind of book I’d normally read. (Not enough magic or tech!)
There were some parts of the writing that were striking and some lines I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the I was quite bored for most of the rest of the story, so if anything, those great lines pulled me out of the story and just highlighted how boring the rest of it was.
The action does amp up in the very end but I was also left frustrated by the amount of loose ends and the fact that there were no consequences for the true villains of the story.
