Thank you Penguin Random House for this review copy.

Although I was saddened by the fact that this book was not a continuation of Lara and Arens story, I can't say that I was disappointed with the story that was given to us.

As this book does take place through the ending events of book 1 and the entirety of book 2, a lot of the world building and explanations are pretty much repeated. And while I could see that being a problem for some people, I actually quite enjoyed how it was presented in this book. Not only was it phrased in such a way that it could be seen as new information, but it also expanded the use of scheming and planning with regards to the characters and their associations.

Although I enjoyed pretty much every aspect of this book, nothing comes close to the development in this book. Whether it be Zarrah and Keris' individual character development or the development of their relationship as a whole, the development in this book was on another level. It really helped in meeting the standard that this entire series has had so far.

Overall, this series has been a joyride and an absolute delight to read. The ending of this book specifically has left so many questions and thoughts running through my head that waiting for book 4 is going to be an absolute challenge.
