I was kindly gifted this book by the author and I can honestly say I was hooked from the start. So much so that I read the book in one sitting and every page had me eager to find out what happens next!

The story follows the experience of a young girl, Jennifer Gibson, who was abducted when walking home one afternoon and details her horrific ordeal through her kidnapping, abuse, trauma and recovery.
Beth Nicks has done an excellent job in portraying the raw emotions that Jennifer suffers through, enabling the reader to feel a deep sense of empathy for the young girl - feeling every slight joy and sadness she felt. The end had me tearing up when she was rescued and reunited with her mother.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and found the ending very unexpected. I only wish the book was slightly longer and there was more information revealed about Jennifer’s life from before and after the abduction.

Trigger warnings; there is mention of/references to kidnapping, human trafficking, sexual assault, abuse and trauma.
